Mailbox

Getting Started

Install Mailbox, add the examples, and connect optional integrations.

Install Mailbox

Install Mailbox after Game Creator 2 is ready.

  1. Open Window > Package Manager.
  2. Install Mailbox | Game Creator 2.
  3. Use Game Creator > Install... to add the example scenes and UI.

Requirements

Mailbox requires Game Creator 2.

Setup

  1. Install and set up Game Creator 2.
  2. Open Window > Package Manager and install Mailbox | Game Creator 2.
  3. Open Game Creator > Install..., select Mailbox Examples, and click Install.

The example scenes are in Plugins > GameCreator > Installs > Mailbox.Examples@1.0.0 > Scenes.

Mailbox checks for Game Creator 2 Inventory and Dialogue when it is installed. If you add either module later, run Game Creator > Mailbox > Detect and Install Integration.

If you own Inventory, also install the Mailbox Inventory Examples. They are in Plugins > GameCreator > Installs > Mailbox.InventoryExamples@1.0.0 > Scenes.

Example UI

The example UI uses TextMeshPro. Import TMP Essentials from Window > TextMeshPro > Import TMP Essential Resources if needed. All Mailbox components support TextReferences, so Legacy UI is also supported.

Updating Mailbox

Uninstall the old package from Game Creator > Uninstall > Mailbox before installing a new version.
