Cache and Character Packs

Regenerate cache data and add definitions for new Sidekick packs.

New Sidekick Packs

When you add a new Sidekick Modular Character Pack, regenerate the cache from Game Creator > Settings > HeroBridge > Cache Management > Regenerate Cache.

If the pack is not grouped correctly, add a pack definition in HeroBridge Settings. Set Prefix to the first three underscore-separated parts of the mesh name, such as SK_HUMN_BASE, and set Name to a readable pack name, such as Human - Base.

You can group several prefixes with /, for example SK_GOBL_FIGT/SK_GOBL_BASE.

Cache and Character Packs

HeroBridge exports cache data from the Sidekick database when it is installed. The cache contains parts, presets, colors, body shape, species, and expressions.

The cache keeps runtime lookups fast and allows WebGL builds, where the Sidekick SQLite database cannot be used. It also prevents database queries from causing stalls during play.

You can view the cache status or generate it again from Game Creator > Settings > HeroBridge.
