Getting Started

Install Sidekick, HeroBridge, and the example content.

Install HeroBridge | Game Creator 2

This integration needs Game Creator 2 and the Sidekick Tool and Database.

  1. Install Game Creator 2, the Sidekick Starter Pack, Sidekick Tool, and Sidekick Database.
  2. Open Window > Package Manager and install HeroBridge Integration of Sidekick for Game Creator 2.
  3. Use Game Creator > Install... to add the optional examples.

Requirements

You need Game Creator 2, the free Sidekick Modular Characters starter pack from Synty, and the Sidekick Tool and Database.

Setup

  1. Install and set up Game Creator 2.
  2. Install the free Starter Pack - Sidekick Modular Characters by Synty.
  3. Install the Sidekick Tool and Database. After installing the starter pack, Unity normally shows a download window. If it does not, open Synty > Sidekick Tool Downloader. The tool can also be downloaded from the Synty GitHub release page. Import both Sidekicks.unitypackage and SidekicksDatabase.unitypackage.
  4. Open Window > Package Manager and install HeroBridge Integration of Sidekick for Game Creator 2.
  5. Optional example scenes and the animation patcher can be installed later.

Updating and uninstalling

For a clean update, uninstall the old package first. Use Game Creator > Uninstall > HeroBridge, then install the new version from the Package Manager.

Example content

Open Game Creator > Install..., find HeroBridge, enable Examples, and click Install. The files are placed in:

Plugins/GameCreator/Installs/HeroBridge.Examples@1.0.0/

The examples include a scene with dropdowns for cycling through parts and a scene with buttons that preview every part. Copy a scene before changing it so an update cannot overwrite your work.
