Install Full Body Awareness Controller

- Open Window > Package Manager.
- Install Full Body Awareness Controller.
- In the Installer, add the Shooter 2 or Melee integration and the demos you want.
- Reopen it any time from Game Creator > Full Body Awareness Controller > Install.
Requirements
Full Body Awareness Controller requires:
- Game Creator 2
- A Humanoid character. Generic and other rig types are not supported.
Optional:
- Shooter 2, for the Shooter 2 Integration and the Shooter examples.
- Melee 2, for the Melee 2 Integration and the Melee examples.
- Motion Weave 1.3.0 or later, for the examples that use Motion Weave.
- Traversal, for ladders, climbing and vaults. It works without any setup.
Setup
- Install and set up Game Creator 2.
- Open Window > Package Manager and install Full Body Awareness Controller.
- Wait for Unity to finish compiling.
- The Installer window opens on its own the first time. Install the integrations and examples you want.
- Set up your character and camera. See Character Setup.
The Installer Window
The Installer opens the first time the package is imported into a project. You can open it again at any time:
Game Creator > Full Body Awareness Controller > InstallEach part has a card with a status, what is required, and its buttons:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Installed | Every file of the part is in the project. |
| Partly installed | Some files are missing. The card shows how many. Click Repair to import them again. |
| Not installed | The part can be installed. Click Install. |
| Not available | Something required is missing. Hover the labels on the card to see what. |
| Package missing | The package file was not found in the Packages folder of the module. |
Installed examples also have Open Scene and Show Files buttons.
Integrations
| Part | Required | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Shooter 2 Integration | Shooter 2 | Connects Shooter 2 weapons to the rig: placement in view, aiming down sights, reloads, recoil kick and the second hand. |
| Melee Integration | Melee | Finds the equipped Melee weapon, pauses Wall Retract and Lower When Sprinting while attacking or blocking, and turns the view with turning skills. |
Examples
There are five examples. Install them from the Installer, in any order.
| Example | Required | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Character Example | Game Creator Examples | A character with no weapons: the body, the camera, turn in place and the shadow. A good place to start, and it doesn't need Shooter 2 or Melee 2. |
| Combined Example | Motion Weave 1.3.0 or later with its Melee integration, Shooter 2, Melee 2, Shooter Examples, Melee Examples, Game Creator Examples | The same setup as the itch.io demo: four guns and a sword in one scene. Every weapon is set up with Motion Weave. It uses Game Creator's Walk and Run locomotion states, so you can switch between walking and sprinting. |
| Melee Example | Melee 2, Melee Examples | A scene with a sword from Melee 2. |
| Shooter 2 Example (Motion Weave) | Motion Weave 1.3.0 or later, Shooter 2, Shooter Examples, Game Creator Examples | Four guns, a pistol, an AK, a shotgun and a sniper rifle, each with its own place in view and its own feel. Every gun has Motion Weave states. It uses Game Creator's Walk and Run locomotion states, so you can switch between walking and sprinting. |
| Shooter 2 Example | Shooter 2, Shooter Examples, Game Creator Examples | The same four guns without Motion Weave. It uses Shooter 2's default locomotion, which only has a slow walk. |
Installing an example also installs the Shooter 2 Integration or the Melee 2 Integration it uses, if they are not installed yet.
For the Combined Example, patch Melee from Game Creator > Motion Weave > Integrations before you install it.
Each card shows a Motion Weave label with a status dot. Green means Motion Weave 1.3.0 or later is installed. Yellow means Motion Weave is outdated, or for the Combined Example, that its Melee integration is not installed yet. Hover the label to see which. Red means Motion Weave is not installed. The Game Creator Examples label works the same way: hover it to see which Game Creator 2 examples are missing.
It is highly recommended to install the examples and look through them. They show how the weapons, the Held Item Profiles and the characters are set up.
It is also highly recommended to use Motion Weave. Without it, a held gun uses Shooter 2's default locomotion, which only has a slow walk.
The examples use Game Creator 2's own example assets. Install them before you install an example, or the example prefabs break:
- Open Game Creator > Install....
- For the Shooter examples, find Shooter and install Examples.
- For the Melee examples, find Melee and install Examples.
- For the Character Example, the Combined Example and the Shooter examples, find Game Creator and install Examples.
